What services does the Library provide to students living with disabilities?

The Unisa Library offers a range of services to students with special needs and they include:

  • Scanning or conversion of Library material
  • Audio Book Readers may be requested via the catalogue
    • Book sense : portable audio multiplayer
    • ​ClassMate reader : portable multi-sensory reading system
    • Victor Reader Stratus
    • Blaze EZ
    • Book Courier
  • Dolphin Pens (short loan ib the Library)
  • NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA) 
  • ZoomText large-print keyboards
  • Merlin desktop video magnifier
  • Earphones
  • Audio Book Readers
  • Dedicated workstations (with wide screen monitors) for students with disabilities in the Research Space on the 4th floor of the Muckleneuk Library on the Pretoria Main Campus.

Braille service is available only from ARCWiD (Advocacy and Resource Centre for Students with Disabilities).
