The objectives of SACOMM is to encourage contact and co-operation among Communication Departments in the various tertiary education institutions offering Communication Studies; to provide a forum to promote communication research, collaboration and debate between communication practitioners, communication industry professionals, academics and students; to promote networking and academic debate; and to facilitate professional communication practice in Southern Africa.

PRISA represents professionals in public relations and communication management throughout the southern African region and initiated the formation of the Council for Communication Management (CCM) in South Africa.

The South African National Editors’ Forum (SANEF) is a non-profit organisation whose members are editors, senior journalists and journalism trainers from all areas of the South African media.

We are committed to championing South Africa’s hard-won freedom of expression and promoting quality, ethics and diversity in the South African media.

SANEF promotes excellence in journalism through fighting for media freedom, writing policy submissions, research, education and training programmes.

ICASA is responsible for regulating the telecommunications, broadcasting and postal industries in the public interest and ensure affordable services.

The mandate of the DCDT is as follows: To lead South Africa’s digital transformation to achieve digital inclusion that must result in economic growth through creating an enabling policy and regulatory environment.

Journalism.co.za, or jocoza, is run by the Journalism Programme of the University of the Witwatersrand.The site is intended both as a resource for working journalists in Southern Africa and a teaching tool for the university programme. It offers a range of news, views and information, and is updated daily.

ICA is an academic association for scholars interested in the study, teaching, and application of all aspects of human and mediated communication. The purposes of the Association are to provide an international forum to enable the development, conduct, and critical evaluation of communication research; to sustain a program of scholarly publication and knowledge exchange; to facilitate inclusiveness and debate among scholars from diverse national and cultural backgrounds and from multi-disciplinary perspectives on communication-related issues.
