The new OpenAthens authentication system for electronic resources implemented successfully / ProQuest eBook Central Bookshelf backup
The Unisa Library successfully implemented the new authentication system for electronic resources, OpenAthens, from 2 December.
Steps to access the library resources:
After selecting the resource, you will still be directed to the Unisa CAS login page.
Unisa students to use their student number as username and their myLife password.
Unisa staff to use their Unisa network username and the corresponding password.
It is recommended that to successfully login, you continue to access the e-resources via the Unisa Library websites.
ProQuest eBook Central
Please note that ProQuest eBook Central will no longer be using an email address after migration to OpenAthens. You will use your Unisa credentials to log into the institution's eBook Central site and your account.
As a result, you are required to back up the content that you need to keep as your old account along with your bookshelf contents will disappear.
The deadline to back up is 13 December 2024.
The go-live date of ProQuest eBook Central Open Athens will be Wednesday, 18 December 2024.
