The Unisa Library signed the transitional agreement with the Royal Society of Chemistry for the period 2024 - 2026. 

Under this agreement, all Unisa affiliated corresponding authors are allowed to publish open access in any of the Royal Society of Chemistry journals without paying an article processing charge (APC). 

Full gold open access journals

All of the articles are gold open access, usually after payment of an article processing charge. The content is available free online for everyone to read. The RSC full open access journals are:

  • Chemical Science: our flagship journal, and there are no fees charged for publication.
  • RSC Advances: article processing charges will be applied.
  • Nanoscale Advances: article processing charges will be applied.
  • RSC Chemical Biology: article processing charges are waived for all authors until mid-2022.
  • Materials Advances: article processing charges are waived for all authors until mid-2022.
  • Energy Advances: article processing charges are waived for all authors until mid-2024.
  • Environmental Science: Atmospheres: article processing charges are waived for all authors until mid-2023.
  • Environmental Science: Advances: article processing charges are waived for all authors until mid-2024.
  • Digital Discovery: article processing charges are waived for all authors until mid-2024.
  • Sensors & Diagnostics: article processing charges are waived for all authors until mid-2024
