Training schedules

Book for Training

The Unisa Libraries offer training in the use of library resources to enable clients to find information easily and speedily. Training is offered free of charge to registered Unisa students and staff.

Using the Unisa Library catalogue

This training unit will cover the following:

  • Basic Search Options
  • Essential request options
  • Basic Search Skills

Prerequisites: Need mouse and keyboard skills, and student attendees must have joined myUnisa

Introduction to E-Resources

This training unit will cover the following:

  • How to use the A-Z list of electronic resources on the Library website
  • How to use the electronic resources by subject on the Library website
  • How to use the Unisa Library e-Journal Finder
  • How to access e-resources (including e-books and e-reference sources)
  • Electronic Thesis & Dissertations

Prerequisite: First attend the Library Catalogue training offered by the Unisa Library.

Using Reference Sources

This training unit cover the following:

  • Defining reference sources
  • Types of reference sources (print & online)
  • How to access referencing sources
