Microsoft 365 Tools

Online Tools

MS 365 Class Notebook​

All your notes, on all your devices, all up to date. OneNote is a digital notebook for capturing, storing, and sharing all kinds of information. Full integration with the cloud means you can free your files from your computer hard drive.

 

MS 365 Project​

Develop project plans, assign tasks, share files, and get project updates. You can get basic project training, learn how to build a project, share your project with others and assign tasks 

 

MS 365 SharePoint

You can share and management files, notes and content to assist with teamwork. 

 

MS 365 Whiteboard

Whiteboard is a freeform, digital canvas where people, content, and ideas come together. You can use Whiteboard for collaborating with your group to accomplish many activities — whether your group is in the same place or in multiple locations.

 

MS 365 Teams​

You can set  up teams for your study or work groups and collaborate in one easy space. 

 

MS 365 People

In Outlook on the web, you use the People page to create, view, and edit contacts, contact lists, and groups.

 

Simplenote

"Simplenote lets you easily jot down your thoughts and organize them by tag, search note contents and tags later to find what you need again later, search through revision history for your notes, share them with others, and access them on any web-enabled device."

Google Keep

Using Keep, you can save images, like a receipt or art, as notes. You can also attach photos and images to existing notes.

You will need to create a Google account to use this feature.

 

Remote desktop software,

Remote desktop software lets you co-browse one computer from another – with permission from the owner, you can take over the keyboard and mouse and open, change and save files on the other person's computer.

Remote desktop software is really useful, whether you are assisting your brother, who lives in another province, work through a computer issue, to allowing your Librarian to view your screen to understand why you are struggling to open certain documents or links that were sent to you.

 

Here is a list of some free remote desktop software you can use:

  • AnyDesk
    • AnyDesk is free for occasional private use
    • Can be downloaded on your PC or on a USB drive
    • Can chat with host and client
    • Offers multiple monitor support
    • Can copy and paste files to host PC
  • TeamViewer
    • Supports chat (text, video, and voice over IP)
    • Remote printing is allowed
    • Works with multiple monitors
    • Portable version is available, so no “install” is required
    • Can control a remote computer through the desktop program, a mobile device, or an Internet browser
  • RemotePC
    •  
    • Can chat with host and client
    • Offers multiple monitor support
    • Can copy and paste files to host PC
    • Can make connections via mobile devices
    • Record sessions to an AVI file
