Digital Preservation: Home

Introduction

Welcome to the Unisa Digital Preservation LibGuide. This guide contains information about digital preservation at Unisa Library and Information Services.

Digital Preservation is about preserving digital knowledge for the future. The Unisa library is responsible for ensuring continued access to collections, including digital collections. Furthermore, it undertakes activities and processes to ensure authentic and accessible information resources over a long period of time.

 World Digital Preservation Day

World Digital Preservation Day (WDPD) is celebrated annually on the first Thursday of November.

World Digital Preservation Day is organised by the Digital Preservation Coalition and supported by digital preservation networks worldwide. Participation is open to all sectors from anyone interested in safeguarding a sustainable future for digital assets.

In 2022 the theme is data for all, for good, forever. This is an opportunity to showcase how digital preservation enables 'digits to flourish'.
