This Libguide has been created to guide the Florida Science Library clients, on some of the most important library services and resources available to support teaching,learning and research. Science Library is your Information Partner in the College of Science,Engineering and Technology, and the College of Agriculture and Environmental Science.

Florida branch Library is situated at Florida Science Campus  G.J. Gerwel building, University of South Africa, Christiaan de Wet Road & Pioneer Avenue, Florida Park.

January to November:
Mon - Fri: 07:45 to 20:00
Sat: 08:00 to 16:00

How Many Books Can I Borrow

  • Undergraduates: 8 items
  • Postgraduates: 16 items, including audio-visual
  • Undergraduate music students: 12 items
  • Postgraduate music students: 20 items
  • Other membership categories: 8 items

Information desk,Circulation desk & Reserved Collection Services

Information desk is situated on the 2nd floor to assist all clients with Library related inquiries. Circulation/Lending service desk is situated on the 1st floor for lending inquiries. Reserved collection desk is situated on the 1st floor to assist students with  reserved books for two hours loan system.                                                                                                                          

Library training, RFID machine, & WIFI

Library training is offered in the library as per bookings.RFID, machines are available for self-help issuing and drop book returns services. WIFI, connection is available on campus for registered students to access online study materials.

All academic work, written or otherwise, submitted by a student is expected to be the result of his/her own work.  The University views acts of copyright infringement and plagiarism as a serious offence.
