Mendeley Web Importer and Encore Duet
With Mendeley Web Importer, you can easily save references into your personal references library by doing the following (according to the browser you are using — see also screen captures further below:
If you are using Google Chrome:
- Install the Mendeley Web Importer browser extension
- Conduct a search in Encore Duet and then open your Mendeley application
- Limit/Refine your search results to online resources by clicking on the EBSCO EDS link on the left hand side of Encore EDS
- Click on the Mendeley icon in the top right corner of your browser:
- Provide your login details to log into Mendeley
- You will then see a list of all the references in the Encore Duet page appearing in the Mendeley application
- In your Mendeley application select the references you want to save and click on the Save button
If you are using Firefox or Internet Explorer:
- First make sure your 'Bookmarks' or 'Favourites' bar is visible. You may need to switch this on from the 'View' menu in your browser
- Install the Mendeley Web Importer bookmarklet
- To add the bookmarklet to your browser drag the Mendeley button from this site to your browser’s 'Bookmarks' or 'Favourites' bar. The button looks like this:
- Conduct a search in Encore Duet
- Limit/Refine your search results to online resources by clicking on the EBSCO EDS link on the left hand side of Encore EDS
- Click on the Mendeley bookmark from you bookmarks icon/list
- Provide your login details to log into Mendeley
- You will then see a list of all the references in that page appearing in the Mendeley application
- Select the references you want to save and click on the Save button
Please note that the Mendeley export facility on Encore Duet does not currently allow you directly to download full-text documents to Mendeley. Mendeley cannot import PDFs from subscription-based resources, such as journal articles, because access to full text documents is password controlled and one is required first to login to access the full text.
